Position Summary


At Starbase, we believe in the transformative power of cannabis craftsmanship and innovation. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Cannabis Technician to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art facility in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. In this vital role, you will have the opportunity to be actively involved in various aspects of production, adapting to business needs as you contribute to delivering premium cannabis products while upholding our unwavering standards of quality.


Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from packaging and labeling to executing production processes, including grinding flower for pre-rolls, filling vape pens, and participating in the extraction, infusion, and baking of edibles. This position requires flexibility, as employees will be expected to jump in wherever needed, ensuring that all operations run smoothly. Working hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm or Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with significant cross-training to broaden your expertise across different functions.


Ideal candidates will have experience in cannabis or kitchen environments/edible production, aligning with our commitment to excellence. Previous experience with Metrc or another seed-to-sale tracking system is strongly preferred, along with a general understanding of cannabis production processes. Essential Duties

Production Operations

  • Grind flower and operate equipment for pre-roll production.
  • Fill vape pens with precision and attention to detail.
  • Participate in the extraction, infusion and baking processes for edibles, ensuring consistency and quality.

Packaging and Production Preparation

  • Accurately package cannabis products, including pre-rolls, flower, and edibles, into their designated packaging.
  • Ensure all products are labeled correctly and comply with the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) regulations.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure products meet company standards before packaging.
  • Weigh and measure products for consistent and accurate portioning.

Warehouse Support

  • Assist in daily cleaning tasks to maintain a sanitary and compliant facility.
  • Prepare workstations and materials needed for the day, including organizing supplies and setting up equipment.
  • Help with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and tracking supplies and materials.
  • Assist with loading and unloading deliveries as needed.

Compliance and Record-Keeping

  • Follow all company SOPs and CCC regulations for handling cannabis products.
  • Maintain accurate records for production, packaging, and inventory tracking systems, including METRC.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor immediately.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with other team members to meet daily production and packaging goals.
  • Communicate effectively about workflow, challenges, or equipment needs.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain Marijuana Establishment Registration Card in Massachusetts
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, packaging, or cannabis production environment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency
  • Basic math skills for weighting and measuring products
  • Familiarity with packaging equipment and inventory tracking systems like METRC a plus
  • Ability to follow strict compliance and safety standards
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable standing, bending and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong odors and temperature-controlled settings.
