Description

Starbase is a cannabis brand house built by a crew of longtime friends and operators with deep roots in the industry. We operate out of a state-of-the-art facility with full automation, designed to deliver consistent, thoughtful, and high-quality product at scale. More brands are on the way as we continue to grow.

Our current lineup includes:

  • Vacation — potent, bright, bold, and made for those who appreciate flavor, fun, and feeling it
  • Country — grounded, terp rich, and built for the everyman. The perfect blend of quality and value.

We are scaling fast and this is your chance to get in early, own your territory, and build something real.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This is a hunter role. You will be assigned a territory of approximately 100 accounts across Greater Boston. Your job is to open doors, close business, and grow Starbase’s retail footprint — account by account. This is not account management. This is new business development in a competitive, fast-moving market. If you thrive on the energy of the close and want to build something from the ground up, this seat is for you.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Own and aggressively work an assigned territory of ~100 retail dispensary accounts in the Greater Boston area
  • Prospect, cold call, and walk in to accounts that are not yet carrying Starbase products — convert them
  • Present and sell the full Starbase product lineup with deep product knowledge and compelling storytelling
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, GMs, and ownership at each account
  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Manage the full sales cycle from first contact through order placement and follow-up
  • Execute shelf placement, merchandising, and display standards at every account visit
  • Identify and report on competitive activity, pricing trends, and market intelligence
  • Coordinate with the operations and logistics team to ensure accurate, on-time order fulfillment
  • Participate in launches, trade events, activations, and market pushes as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of all account activity, pipeline, and sales data using Hubspot
  • Note: This role does not involve transporting cannabis product. All product distribution is handled through licensed distribution channels.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Must be 21 or older and legally eligible to work in the cannabis industry in Massachusetts
  • 2+ years of proven B2B or field sales experience — cannabis, CPG, beverage, or related industry strongly preferred
  • Track record of hitting and exceeding sales quotas
  • A true hunter: self-motivated, competitive, and energized by prospecting and closing
  • Strong communicator with professional presence and the ability to build trust quickly
  • Highly organized and capable of managing a large, active account base independently
  • Reliable personal transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory daily
  • Comfortable working flexible hours including evenings and weekends when business demands it
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, basic reporting, and standard sales tracking practices

Bonus If You…

  • Have deep cannabis industry knowledge — terpenes, formats, brands, and what’s moving on the market
  • Have existing relationships at dispensaries in the Greater Boston area
  • Have experience with dispensary operations, wholesale purchasing, or retail account management
  • Are active on social media or comfortable capturing authentic field content when appropriate
  • Have working knowledge of Canva, Adobe, or similar tools

WHAT YOU’LL GET

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
  • Uncapped performance-based commission structure • Mileage and travel reimbursement per Company policy
  • Performance bonuses tied to territory growth and account acquisition
  • Paid Time Off per Starbase PTO policy
  • A team that moves fast, values results, and rewards people who deliver
