Key Responsibilities:

• Select and install pipe types and sizes, including supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, as specified.
• Plan installations or repairs to avoid obstructions and minimize interference with other workers.
• Cut and thread pipes, using various tools and machines, and bend pipes to fit layouts.
• Assemble and secure metal and nonmetal pipes using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
• Attach pipes to structures using brackets, clamps, and hangers.
• Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components, such as pumps and cylinders, and ensure system efficiency.
• Test systems by increasing pressure and observing gauges; make necessary adjustments and repairs.
• Weld pipe supports to structural members, observe machinery for potential malfunctions, and verify repairs by operating machinery.
• Comply with safety regulations and use respiratory protection when required.

Job Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pass a written Pipe Fitter test.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, and perform basic math for geometric calculations.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks involving climbing, bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Comfortable working in hot, cold, damp, or cramped environments, and willing to work beyond primary responsibilities as needed.
• Pass a drug test and background check (may vary by job location).

• Pipe Wrenches: 14” & 18”
• Crescent Wrenches: 10” & 12”
• Levels: Torpedo and 2’ Level
• Box Wrenches: Set up to 1 ¼”
• Channel Lock Pliers, Allen Wrenches, Tape Measures (25’ & 50’)
• Additional Tools: Chalk box, wrap-around, hammer, tri-square, framing square, burning glasses, center punch, tubing cutter, pipe fitters book, and calculator.
