Position: Resident Advocate (PRN)

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Resident Support & Community Care

• Build supportive relationships with residents while maintaining healthy boundaries

• Encourage accountability and support residents in working toward personal and program goals

• Assist residents with daily routines, schedules, and responsibilities within the home

• Respond to resident concerns or emotional needs in a respectful and trauma-informed manner


Program Support

• Coordinate with Case Managers, the Residential Coordinator, and program staff

regarding resident needs and program operations

• Support program activities such as classes, community meetings, and life-skills programming

• Assist with resident orientation and move-in processes when needed

• Reinforce program expectations outlined in the Resident Handbook


Safety, Accountability & Documentation

• Maintain a safe and structured residential environment

• Address behavioral concerns or conflicts using trauma-informed de-escalation practices

• Complete required documentation including incident reports, medication logs, drug screen documentation, and house check records

• Communicate important updates regarding resident wellbeing or program concerns to appropriate staff


Residential Operations

• Monitor resident movement in and out of the home, including approved passes and curfew compliance

• Conduct routine room checks and house checks to maintain a safe and orderly living environment

• Support adherence to house expectations including chores, schedules, and community participation

• Conduct scheduled or random drug screens in accordance with program policy and document results appropriately


Administrative & Program Support

• Assist with maintaining the organization and functionality of residential homes

• Support transportation needs, errands, or logistics when scheduled

• Attend staff trainings or meetings as requested

• Communicate with the Residential Coordinator regarding shift updates, incidents, or concerns


SHIFT RESPONSIBILITIES

PRN Resident Advocates may provide coverage during daytime or evening shifts depending on program needs.

Daytime coverage may include:

• Supporting resident schedules, appointments, or transportation

• Assisting with program activities, groups, or volunteer opportunities

• Coordinating household logistics such as supplies or errands

• Supporting staff with program operations

Evening and weekend coverage may include:

• Monitoring resident passes and curfew compliance

• Support resident participation in recovery meetings, household responsibilities, and structured activities

• Facilitating or supporting house meetings or evening programming

• Assist with weekend activities such as volunteer opportunities, field trips, grocery shopping, and community outings

• Responding to resident needs and maintaining structure within the home during evening hours

PRN staff must be able to respond to emerging situations and communicate with

leadership when support or guidance is needed.


PRIMARY RELATIONSHIPS

• This position reports to the Residential Coordinator.

• The Resident Advocate works closely with the Residential Coordinator, Program

Manager, Clinical Director, Case Managers, and other BELOVED staff to support

residents and maintain residential operations.

• The majority of this role involves direct interaction with residents in the

BELOVED residential homes.


QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or higher in behavioral

health, social services, or a related field preferred

• Experience in residential care, social services, recovery programs, or related

support roles preferred

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively with individuals who have experienced trauma

• Administrative and organizational skills including basic computer proficiency

• Clean motor vehicle record

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

• Successful completion of criminal background check

• Professional references demonstrating suitability for working with vulnerable

populations

Salary

$17 - $20 per hour
