A beertender, also known as a taproom server, serves beer and provides customer service in a taproom or brewery. They are responsible for creating a positive experience for guests by ensuring they are well-informed about the beer and the brewery.

Description

Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests: Welcome guests to the taproom and make them feel comfortable 
  • Taking orders: Accurately take orders for food and drinks, and check back with guests 
  • Serving beer: Pour beer and serve it to guests in accordance with alcohol service guidelines 
  • Handling payments: Process payments and tender change 
  • Maintaining cleanliness: Keep the taproom clean, including tables, kegs, and taps 
  • Educating guests: Share knowledge about the brewery and craft beer industry 
  • Managing inventory: Ensure kegs, merchandise, and packaged products are consistently stocked 
  • Opening and closing: Set up and close down the taproom, including opening and closing kegs 
  • Handling special requests: Communicate with management to address issues and special requests
