Looking for a qualified Apprentice in Speech-Language (ASL) for a full or part time school position (in-person). We believe in keeping things simple, and you probably already know what an ASL does. So here's all the juicy details you really want to know.

Description

Area: Rio Rancho, NM 

The Work:

  • 7.5 hours daily 
  • 190 days (includes optional paid PD days)
  • Caseload averages currently around 40 
  • range mid 30’s to mid 50’s; depending on composition in terms of setting, severity, service time, etc.
  • Dedicated IEP specialist (or 2 or 3) at each campus;
  • This means you case manage a limited number of files (typically students with SLI as primary eligibility)
  • Typically no case managing at secondary level
  • Someone else typically schedules your IEPs (Yeah... that's a big deal)
  • Dedicated staff to author PWN (If you've never had to do this... be thankful!)
  • Provide therapy (the SLP kind) in accordance with IEP (and laws, ethics, etc.)
  • Your supervisor will conduct re-evaluations
  • Conduct screenings and provide appropriate follow-up (e.g., review with parent and teacher, document results, provide MLSS, etc.)
  • Write timely documentation (e.g., 3-4 Progress notes/year, session notes, IEPs, reports, etc.)
  • All levels available (from therapeutic Preschool to High School)
  • Multiple supports across district (other SLPs on campus; SE lead on campus; district leads nearby; AT/AAC specialists for consults; Lead evaluators for consults; Agency supports)
  • Completing simple weekly invoice

The Compensation:

  • CCC - $63.50/hour ($90,487.50 for 190 days at 7.5 daily) 
  • CFY - $53.50/hour ($76,237.50 for 190 days at 7.5 daily)
  • ASL - 43.50/hour
  • W-2 position (no need for a 1099, business taxes, commercial liability insurance, etc.)
  • Hourly stipend for bilingual 
  • for Spanish, Native American languages like Dine/Navajo, Keres, Tewa
  • requires verification of proficiency (free oral interview or your certificate or other)
  • Annual raises
  • Mileage reimbursement (between school campuses or training sites)
  • School-year completion stipend ($1000)
  • Stipend for “mid year” start
  • MacBook Air and iPad (negotiate to keep them!)
  • $200 reimbursement for materials /year (materials are yours to keep; $500 for CFY)
  • 9 paid sick days (3 upfront; the rest accrue hourly)
  • Free professional development opportunities available with ASHA certificates/documentation provided (+ we pay you to go!)
  • Option to pay-out unused sick days + 5% premium (yea... you get paid to not get sick!)

Your Qualifications:

  • CCC-SLP or
  • SLP-CF or
  • SLP/L or
  • ASL
  • Ability to obtain unencumbered NM licensure (RLD & PED) (we can help with this)
  • Pass background checks


The Process:
