Description

Position Summary:


We are seeking on-call Substitute Teachers to provide coverage in our preschool and early elementary classrooms. Ideal candidates are flexible, reliable, and passionate about early childhood education. Substitute teachers will follow established lesson plans, maintain classroom routines, and ensure the safety and engagement of students in the absence of regular staff.



Key Responsibilities:

• Follow lesson plans and classroom routines left by the regular teacher.

• Provide a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

• Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions.

• Assist students with daily tasks and support any special needs or accommodations.

• Maintain open communication with school leadership and report on the day’s activities.

• Adhere to DCF licensing requirements and school policies.



Qualifications:

• Associates degree (required).

• Experience working with children in a school or child care setting (preferred).

• Willingness to undergo a Level 2 background screening (required).

• Flexibility to be available on short notice.

• BLS/CPR certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).

• Completion of DCF 45-hour training.

• Completion of40-hour RBT training.

Salary

$14 - $18 per hour
