Responsibilities


  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote positive behaviors and skill acquisition.
  • Collect, record, and analyze data on client progress to inform treatment strategies and ensure effective outcomes.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and other self-care routines.
  • Support teaching sessions that enhance communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors tailored to each individual’s needs.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, care plans, and behavioral health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with supervisors, families, and other team members to ensure consistency in behavioral management strategies.
  • Foster a safe, supportive environment that encourages growth, independence, and confidence for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Qualifications


  • Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or working with children with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and experience assisting with ADLs.
  • Excellent teaching skills with the ability to motivate and engage clients effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation standards, and HIPAA compliance is a plus.
  • Compassionate attitude with patience and adaptability to meet diverse client needs.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient care.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in behavior analysis or special education are advantageous.
