Controller / Bookkeeper



90 day Introductory period - must schedule co-working in office or accommodations as needed discussed during interview.

Part time (10-20 hours per week), self starter needed for a Remote Bookkeeping position handling multiple clients

We are looking for a part time, skilled, self starter Bookkeeper to multiple clients ( accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting, controller level services, payroll and administration). Auditing books regularly for accuracy. Working closely with our clients and thier team via zoom weekly, to create and analyze financial reports and ensure requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate holds a Finance degree (preferably followed by accounting CPE courses) and is familiar with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks, Gusto, Pixie. Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of all clients.

  • Bookkeeping for multiple clients (closing books, journal entries, bank reconciliations, monthly billings for some clients customer, payroll, sales tax calculations, preparing financial reports and analysis)
  • Manage great working relationships and collaborating with clients and team
  • Review books of others on our team and conduct weekly meetings with all clients via zoom and review weekly open questions
  • Explain to clients how books are looking during zoom and/or video emails, what shows on balance sheet & profit and loss.
  • Participate in 1-1 and group zooms.
  • Job costing and explaining to clients how its effects their reporting
  • Answering phones, emails, texts via zoom phone
  • Tasks management
  • Communicate with your manager regarding your established schedule, desired hours and any potential capacity issues.
  • Assist as needed with intake forms, during tax season especially
  • Post lease payment, equipment loan transactions
  • Setup and / or Update Fixed Asset
  • Assist with audits (payroll, sales tax, general liability etc.)
  • Complete clients forms as needed
  • 1099 processing



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of job costing accounting experience.
  • Ability to abide by standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to recognize discrepancies and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment
  • Tax experience / PTIN a plus!


  • Excellent at emailing; typing with correct capitals etc.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Proficient in spreadsheets Excel and Google Sheets.
  • 3+ years of QuickBooks Online
  • Software friendly (lots of tech use on all clients files)
  • Ability to present and explain business and financial information in clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines.
  • Pure Bookkeeping System (experience in this not required)
  • Follow instructions but also can think outside the box
  • Detail oriented
  • Self starter
  • Dedicated office space that has a reliable, high-speed internet connection.
  • Bookkeeping test will be sent to qualifying applicants
  • Must pass background check


  • Job operates in a professional office environment and or work from home environment. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copier, etc.


$20 - $30 per hour
