Position Overview
The Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern will work directly with the Social Media & Digital Marketing Associate to grow The Be. Org’s digital presence, strengthen brand storytelling, and increase community engagement.
This role is ideal for a creative, digitally fluent college student who wants hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, short-form video strategy, analytics, media outreach, and AI-powered content creation.
You won’t just “post content” — you’ll help shape the voice and visibility of a mission-driven organization impacting youth across the region.

Hybrid (Baltimore–Washington Metropolitan Area)
Compensation
$1,000 stipend (semester-based)
Time Commitment
10–20 hours per week (flexible scheduling around classes)
What You’ll Do
Content & Social Media Strategy
- Support implementation of a cross-platform content strategy (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, email, website)
- Create engaging short-form video, graphics, captions, and storytelling content
- Assist in developing content calendars aligned with programs, events, and campaigns
- Repurpose long-form content into short-form, high-impact digital pieces
Digital Growth & Analytics
- Track and analyze engagement metrics using social insights and analytics tools
- Provide monthly performance reports and recommendations for growth
- Support SEO efforts to improve website visibility and search rankings
- Research trends, hashtags, and emerging platforms relevant to Gen Z audiences
Email & Community Engagement
- Draft and schedule newsletters and stakeholder communications
- Assist with segmentation and engagement tracking
- Help maintain brand consistency across all digital communications
Media & Event Coverage
- Pitch local media outlets and support press outreach efforts
- Provide live social coverage of programs and events
- Develop post-event recap content (video, blog, carousel posts)
Collaboration & Innovation
- Attend required trainings and team meetings
- Contribute creative ideas during marketing brainstorms
- Collaborate across departments to highlight youth impact stories
- Utilize AI tools responsibly to enhance workflow efficiency
Who This Role Is Perfect For
We’re looking for a student who is:
- Majoring in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, Digital Media, or a related field
- Passionate about youth empowerment, education, and community impact
- Comfortable creating short-form video content
- Familiar with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar tools
- Experienced (or eager to learn) social media analytics and performance tracking
- Organized and able to meet deadlines with high-quality work
- Confident enough to share ideas and open to constructive feedback
- Detail-oriented with strong proofreading skills
- Curious about nonprofit leadership and mission-driven marketing
Bonus (but not required):
- Experience with SEO tools, email marketing platforms, or CRM systems
- Experience pitching media or writing press releases
- Familiarity with AI tools for content ideation and productivity
