Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records in accordance with GAAP
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including vendor invoices and customer billing
• Track and reconcile job costs by project, phase, and cost code
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and job profitability reports
• Process weekly payroll, including certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance (if applicable)
• Handle bank reconciliations and monthly closings
• Assist with preparation of W-2s, 1099s, and other regulatory filings
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial and tax regulations
• Liaise with project managers to track budget vs. actual costs
• Work with external accountants during audits and year-end tax preparation

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance—preferably in the construction industry
• Strong understanding of job costing and construction billing (e.g., AIA, progress billing)
• Proficiency with accounting software preferrable Computer Ease.
• Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Raken, Monday.com) is a plus
• Knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements (if applicable)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Work Environment:

• Office-based with potential for hybrid work depending on company policy
• May occasionally require visits to job sites for project coordination
