Bayview Landscape Architecture, an award-winning Landscape Architecture firm based in Long Island City, Queens, is seeking a seasoned Landscape Architect to join our studio. 

Our tight-knit team is dedicated to improving outdoor enjoyment through landscape architecture. Impact Description

What happens when the right person succeeds in this role?:

1 month milestone:

• Complete our onboarding process: familiarize yourself with the tools and software we use, and our studio 
• Spend a week-long intensive with our principal, learning background on the history of our firm, our many frequent collaborators, and open client projects. Discuss how to mesh with management systems that are already in place and what you will bring to the table
• Commence weekly progress checkins with our talented Landscape Designers, learning more about them, their working styles, and ongoing project work

3 months:

• Fully enmeshed in the day to day work of designing and developing many open projects
• Facilitated implementation of Bayview's rebrand (anticipated to launch in the first half of 2023!)
• Developed relationships with some of our collaborators and clients 
• Time spent by our principal on day-to-day project management and design reviews will have decreased, freeing up valuable time for business development
• Taken ownership of your role as a project and people manager, and implemented systems collaboratively with the leadership team to improve workflows and efficiency

6 months:

• You take on project design investigations independently, and collaborate daily with other design staff. 
• Pursue professional development opportunities to continue learning and growing your skillset
• You are an indispensable part of our team, involved in overseeing the complete portfolio of projects at Bayview and a valuable leader and mentor within the studio

Qualifications: 

• MLA or BLA is required 
• Licensed landscape architect in the State of New York 
• 7+ years professional experience in a design practice with skills covering a broad range of applications: hardscape design, softscape, and stormwater management
• Excellent graphic design skills including fluency with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is required. Some knowledge of Bluebeam, SketchUp, and other related tools used by the architect and construction fields is welcomed. 
• Team-oriented with superb verbal and written communications skills
• Ease with multitasking and collaboration with clients and allied design professionals
