Description
Position Summary: The Basketball Coach is responsible for recruiting within the school, training, and coaching the members of the Basketball program.
Essential Responsibilities:
● Assist in the coordination of the development and promotion of the Basketball program.
● Assess the athlete's skills and give appropriate feedback.
● Teach sportsmanship, life skills and develop character.
● Manage equipment and playing facilities in a responsible manner.
● Effectively communicate with the Athletic Director, fellow basketball coaches, parents, athletes, and administrators.
● Assist with organizing uniform distribution and retrieval.
● Ensure first aid kits are stocked and readily available.
Administrative tasks include ensuring all eligibility documents are completed and submitted, holding parent/guardian meetings, and meeting with all athletes. In the event of an athlete’s injury, the administrator must follow established procedures. The administrator must also represent BCA and the Basketball program in a consistent, professional, and Christian manner at all times.
Other Duties:
Collaborate with the Athletic Director. Perform any other related duty as assigned by the Athletic Director or other appropriate administrators.
Supervision Exercised: athletes.
Supervision Received:

Minimum Qualifications:
1 year verifiable age-equivalent Basketball coaching experience is preferred. A proven track record with age-appropriate skill and program development is preferred. First Aid and CPR certification is required for coaching.
