Job Overview

The Elementary STEM Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering a dynamic, hands-on STEM program for students in grades K–5. This role focuses on building foundational skills in inquiry, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.

The ideal candidate will create an engaging classroom environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, experiment, and solve problems, while connecting their learning to a biblical worldview. This position also plays a key role in fostering excitement around STEM across the elementary division.


Responsibilities

  • Teach STEM classes to elementary students (K–5), incorporating science, technology, engineering, and math concepts
  • Design and implement hands-on, project-based learning experiences and challenges
  • Foster curiosity, creativity, and a love of exploration through engaging lessons
  • Integrate faith and learning by helping students see God’s design, order, and creativity in the world around them
  • Create a classroom culture that encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance
  • Utilize age-appropriate tools, technology, and materials to enhance learning
  • Assess student understanding and provide meaningful feedback to students and families
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross-curricular connections
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student experiences and progress
  • Support school-wide initiatives, events, and STEM-related showcases
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, chapel, and school events

Requirements

  • A strong, personal Christian faith and commitment to BCA’s mission and vision
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM-related field, or a related discipline
  • Teaching experience at the elementary level preferred
  • Passion for STEM education and hands-on, inquiry-based learning
  • Ability to design creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate lessons
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage materials and projects
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Comfort integrating technology and innovative tools into instruction
