We’ve built a strong foundation. Now we’re ready to add a Senior Engineer who can help take us to the next stage of our maturity. 

We are hiring our first full-time Senior Software Engineer to join our team in our Ann Arbor office.

You’ll work directly inside client environments, strengthening architecture, improving scalability and security, and raising development standards across engagements. You’ll move between projects, assess systems quickly, and help turn early-stage or evolving solutions into durable infrastructure.

This is a high-trust, high-impact role. You won’t be buried inside a large engineering organization. You’ll influence architectural decisions, represent technical direction with founders, and help define what great engineering looks like at Barrett Solutions.

We are not looking for someone to reinvent everything. We are looking for someone who sees what is working, makes it better, and helps us build with more consistency and depth as we scale.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent depth in architectural ownership
• Experience scaling systems beyond MVP into stable, production-ready infrastructure
• Strong system design and cloud architecture expertise
• Experience strengthening security and development standards
• Comfortable operating across multiple active client engagements
• Able to represent technical decisions clearly and confidently with clients
• Comfortable with AI tools and emerging technologies
• Experience architecting complex software and AI systems
• High ownership, low ego, adaptable in fast-moving environments
