A qualified candidate will have extensive experience planning and coordinating a variety of events including wedding receptions, tailgates, private corporate and charitable events, as well as large-scale events with up to 400+ attendees. This individual will be responsible for showing and selling the space we have to offer, primarily the Barrel Haus.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Positive attitude and leadership capabilities.
  • Requires on-site availability Wednesday through Saturday (not all weekends). Off days and remote work are available through discussion and planning with management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and public speaking.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and work assignments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with a high degree of professionalism at all times.
  • Exceptional customer service, ethics, and high expectations for quality.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, will substitute for experience.
  • Basic graphic design/content creation is a plus.

Additional traits to consider:

∙ Meeting with potential clients looking for event space, and discovering their event needs and how we can best serve them

∙ Fulfilling walk-throughs, signing contracts, and securing deposits within a timely manner

∙ Keeping organized, shared event calendar with the Badger State staff that includes all pertinent information within a timely manner

∙ Design and provide detailed floor plans to perspective events contacts

∙ Seeing an event through to its conclusion to assure it runs smoothly and meets our client’s needs, as well as addressing any problems that may arise before or after the event

∙ Perform end-of-event walk-through to verify everything is in order and space is not damaged

∙ Coordinating with other Badger State staff members before, during, and after events

∙ Designing promotional posters and hand-outs for Barrel Haus events both large and small

∙ Collaborate with Marketing Manager on social media content and outline for publication

∙ Able to lead tours, relay historical and industry facts, answers guests’ questions; manage public safety during tours with strong crowd control and public speaking skills.

∙ Passion for Badger State Brewing and the craft beer business; demonstrated capacity to cultivate strong relationships inside and outside of the organization.

∙ Must be available weekends, primarily during summer.


∙  A minimum of 3 years of event planning experience: including the organization, planning, and successful execution of events (beer business/hospitality background preferred).

∙ Customer service background

∙ Strong willingness to learn on the job and perform in stressful situations

∙ Detail-oriented and strong communication skills

∙ Ability to multitask and handle coordinating multiple large events at one time

∙ Experience working with vendors, including but not limited to liquor, décor rental, and caterers


Based on experience. Compensation includes a base salary plus bonus compensation based on goal achievement once training period has been completed. Other incentives can include phone allowance, mileage allowance, and 401k matching plan. Flexible work hours and vacation time are all available and increase with tenure.
