This Kitchen Manager position oversees the F&B of a small hotel property, Back Bay Inn. This role will help minimize operating costs, improve operations efficiency, and deliver a positive experience for our guests, while maintaining the standards of health and safety.
The ideal candidate has experience as a Sous Chef or Back of House Manager/Lead and has a strong understanding of what makes great customer service. In this position, you must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Supervise activities of all kitchen staff, including Line cooks, Prep Cooks, Dish
- Schedule all staff with a focus on financial success
- Manage performance of staff (including feedback & discipline)
- Ensure appropriate health and safety standards and best practices
- Master all recipes from prep to plate
- Determine kitchen flow from prep to service
- Food Costing of Menu
- Input & Feedback on Training and Development
- Conduct basic HR personnel duties, including hiring, onboarding, training, managing performance, verifying hours worked for payroll
- Lead in addressing any complex guest-related matters
Other Responsibilities Include
- Monitor P&L reports and adjust planning as needed, ensuring budgets are met
- Manage BOH expenses, overall cost control and inventory reconciliation
- Support with POS updates
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Ideal Qualifications
- 3+ years of cooking/culinary experience
- 3+ years of experience in food service/F&B
- 3+ years overseeing a kitchen/back of house operations
- 3+ years of experience in leading teams
- High school diploma/GED required, BS degree preferred

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation at $25 per hour or $52,000 USD per year to start
