Overview:
The Swim Teacher plays a vital role in the Brazadas Swim School, delivering high-quality swim instruction to children of varying ages and abilities. Reporting to the Aquatics Program Coordinator, this role focuses on creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment while helping swimmers build confidence, develop skills, and progress through the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach swim lessons in small group and private lesson settings following the Brazadas Swim School curriculum
- Create a safe, welcoming, and positive learning environment for all swimmers
- Provide clear instruction, encouragement, and constructive feedback to support skill development
- Monitor swimmer progress and communicate with parents/guardians as needed
- Complete swimmer evaluations and assist with level placements
- Assist with class setup, cleanup, and maintaining an organized teaching space
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and positive behavior
- Ensure swimmer safety at all times and respond appropriately to emergencies
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the Swim School’s success
Position Details:
- Part-time position with flexible scheduling based on Swim School needs
- Afternoon, evening, and/or weekend availability may be required
- Hands-on, active role working directly with swimmers in the water

Qualifications:
- Prior experience teaching swim lessons or working with children preferred but not required
- Strong swimming skills and willingness to learn swim instruction and water safety principles
- Ability to connect with and motivate young swimmers in a fun, structured environment
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Reliable, communicative, and team-oriented
- Passion for youth development and water safety education
