The Quality Inspector position involves examining products and parts to ensure they meet specific quality standards. This is a vital role at Centex, as it ensures that final products are safe, functional, and meet customer expectations. The Quality inspector will work with a variety of tools such as gauges and calipers to measure product dimensions, test materials, and check product performance. Responsibilities include inspecting products at different stages of the manufacturing process, documenting findings, recommending improvements, and reporting any defects or issues to the production team. To excel in this job, the Quality Inspector must have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The Quality Inspector must also be comfortable using technology, be able to read and interpret technical drawings, and have good communication skills to collaborate with different teams.

Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality checks on manufacturing processes and products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.
  • Use specialized equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to measure and verify product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Document and report any defects or non-conformities discovered during inspection, and work with production staff to resolve any issues.
  • Continuously monitor quality control procedures to identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations to management.
  • Conduct periodic audits of production lines to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production staff to develop and implement new quality control procedures and testing protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations, and ensure that all quality control processes are in line with these guidelines.
  • Train new employees on quality control procedures and expectations to ensure consistency in product quality.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot quality issues, and work with other departments to implement solutions.
  • Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding quality control requirements, and help resolve any quality issues that arise throughout the supply chain.
  • All other duties as deemed necessary by management.



Physical Requirements:

·       Ability to work outdoors exposed to various weather conditions, potential allergens, elevated noise levels, and heat.

·       Ability to move up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation.


Experience:


·       Manufacturing: 2 years (preferred)



Schedule/Shift Availability:


First Shift: Monday through Thursday 5a-3p

Second Shift: Monday through Thursday 3p-1a

Third Shift: Friday- Sunday 5a-5p

Fourth Shift: 5p-5a


Salary

$16 - $18 per year
