Incident Readiness Training Lead

Remote | Full-Time | Incident Readiness

Aviation Safety Solutions is seeking an experienced Incident Readiness Training Lead to develop and maintain a comprehensive training program supporting internal teams, operational partners, and external stakeholders. This role designs scalable, scenario-based, LMS-integrated training solutions that strengthen operational readiness, response consistency, and organizational performance. The ideal candidate can translate operational risks, real-world events, and evolving procedures into engaging, high-impact training within a fast-paced environment.


The Incident Readiness Training Lead serves as the Training Lead for the Incident Readiness Program, responsible for the design, development, and sustainment of a comprehensive, enterprise-level training system. This role ensures that all internal teams, DBW partners, and external stakeholders are trained to effectively execute incident response procedures through structured, scenario-based, and LMS-integrated training solutions.

 

This position requires deep expertise in safety management systems, adult learning principles, human factors, and operational training program development. The Training Lead plays a critical role in translating operational risk, policy, and real-world events into high-impact training content that drives readiness, consistency, and performance across the organization.

 

This is a remote position requiring availability Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM PST.

Limited travel necessary for onboarding and occasional program alignment. This job is dedicated to our autonomous vehicle client.


Key Responsibilities

Training Program Ownership

  • Own the training lifecycle, including:
  • Needs assessment
  • Curriculum development
  • Delivery
  • Evaluation and continuous improvement
  • Evaluate existing materials and recommend enhancements and modernization strategies
  • Align training with:
  • Incident response processes
  • Exercise outcomes
  • Organizational priorities


Live Training Development & Delivery

  • Lead development of monthly training sessions for incident response/on-call teams
  • Coordinate:
  • Agendas
  • Subject matter experts / speakers
  • Presentation materials
  • Facilitate sessions as needed, particularly with mid- to senior-level participants
  • Ensure seamless delivery and high-quality participant experience


LMS & Digital Learning Development

  • Lead development of Learning Management System (LMS) content
  • Design effective self-paced training modules, including:
  • Instructional structure
  • Engagement strategies
  • Knowledge checks and assessments
  • Partner with internal training teams to scale digital learning offerings


Curriculum & Instructional Design

  • Build and refine training curriculum frameworks
  • Apply structured methodologies (e.g., ADDIE or similar instructional design models)
  • Develop:
  • Training plans
  • Course materials
  • Evaluation metrics
  • Ensure training is:
  • Practical
  • Scenario-based
  • Operationally relevant


Collaboration with Exercise Program

  • Participate in exercises periodically to:
  • Maintain operational awareness
  • Align training with real-world execution
  • Integrate lessons learned from exercises into training updates


Quality Assurance & Program Improvement

  • Maintain responsibility for overall training quality and effectiveness
  • Continuously refine content based on:
  • Feedback
  • Performance outcomes
  • Operational changes
  • Ensure training remains scalable and sustainable as the organization grows


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum: 8 years of relevant experience in training development, safety programs, or operational readiness
  • Strong understanding of incident response operations, emergency management, and cross-functional coordination
  • Ability to translate operational risk, real-world events, and policy into actionable training content
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and implement end-to-end training programs from concept through delivery and evaluation
  • Ability to develop scenario-based training, including realistic simulations, exercises, and role-based learning pathways
