Job Overview:

Avela Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced psychologist with expertise in conducting neurodiversity-affirming autism evaluations virtually for children, teens, and adults.  The ideal candidate will work with clients in a collaborative manner that emphasizes strengths. The ideal candidate will be skilled in differential diagnoses including but not limited to ADHD, depression, anxiety, and bi-polar disorder. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough diagnostic evaluations for children, youth, and adults who are questioning autism or who have been referred for an autism diagnostic evaluation
  • Deliver services via telehealth, ensuring accessibility, flexibility, and consistent engagement with families.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary remote team, maintaining clear communication and cooperation to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Provide psychoeducation regarding autism from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective
  • Provide recommendations that are strength-based and tailored to the unique needs of each client


Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a psychologist in one or more states, holds certification from PsyPACT (APIT)
  • Documented experience in conducting neurodiversity-affirming autism evaluations from a neurodiversity-affirmative perspective
  • Proficiency in delivering services via telehealth platforms.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a remote, team-based environment.
  • Commitment to a family-centered, strengths-based approach to supporting autistic individuals and their families.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in behavior therapy/cognitive-behavior therapy
  • Expertise in working with autistic individuals in a therapeutic context
