We're looking for candidates residing and working in CO, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, KY, MA, MD, MO, NC, NJ, PA, SC, TN, TX, and VA. Please note that we can only consider applicants who live and work in the listed states. We also welcome military spouses outside these states as long as they are legal residents of one of the hiring states (as qualified by the MSRRA). Core Responsibilities

50% — Operational Execution

  • Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage all aspects of accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, and payroll processing.
  • Donation Management: Process and receipt donations, maintain accurate donor records, and handle year-end donor-giving statements.
  • Transaction Maintenance: Reconcile monthly credit card statements and perform bank reconciliations for accountability for all client funds.

20% — Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • General Ledger Management: Balance the general ledger and ensure all accounts are categorized correctly.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports for management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Year-End Compliance: Verify draft W-2s and ensure contractor eligibility for 1099s to keep clients in good legal standing.

20% — Client Support & Coordination

  • Strategic Support: Collaborate closely with the Partner Strategist to provide seamless service and address client-specific needs.
  • Communication: Respond to client inquiries regarding financial transactions or donation records with sincerity and helpfulness.
  • Coordination: Work with vendors, client employees, contractors, donors, and financial institutions as needed to accomplish tasks.
  • Professional Presence: Build credibility and rapport with ministry stakeholders through consistent, high-quality service.

5% — Community

  • Internal Connection: Participate in weekly staff meetings for prayer, business updates, and team support. Engaging in internal company spaces (when appropriate and comfortable) to nurture community, collaboration, and culture


Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping required. Experience with church or faith-based non-profit operations is highly preferred. Or minimum of 1 year as an Operations Assistant with exceptional performance. 
  • Technical: Proficiency in finance/accounting software, payroll systems, and Google Workspace.
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, conscientiousness, and the ability to diagnose/solve complex bookkeeping problems.
  • Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent years of professional experience.

$26 - $29 per hour
