Position Overview
Automotive Specialty Systems LLC is seeking a motivated and dependable Mobile Technician to support the installation, service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fleet telematics, GPS tracking systems, dash cameras, and related 12V electronic equipment at customer locations throughout the Baltimore region and surrounding states.
This is a field-based position requiring strong technical ability, professionalism, and customer service skills. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, traveling to customer sites, and maintaining a high standard of workmanship and communication.
Responsibilities
- Install and service telematics systems, GPS tracking devices, dash cameras, and related fleet technology equipment
- Perform mobile installations and repairs at customer locations including fleet yards, shops, and job sites
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and installation-related issues on commercial and fleet vehicles
- Complete quality control checks and verify proper operation of installed equipment
- Maintain accurate service documentation, photos, and installation records
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch personnel, and project managers
- Manage and maintain company-issued inventory, supplies, and equipment
- Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements
- Escalate technical or scheduling issues promptly through company communication channels
- Travel to customer sites throughout the region, including occasional overnight travel assignments
Qualifications
- Experience with 12V automotive electrical systems preferred
- Experience installing telematics, GPS, dash cameras, alarms, radios, or aftermarket electronics strongly preferred
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently in a mobile field environment
- Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background screening and drug testing if required by customer sites
- Must provide personal hand tools required for daily installation and service work
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and work in various weather conditions
Schedule & Travel
- Full-time position
- Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work based on project needs
- Some overnight travel required
