A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) who works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement ABA treatment plans for individuals on the autism spectrum. RBTs assist in delivering direct behavior-analytic services, collecting data, and implementing behavior intervention plans designed by the BCBA.
The Autism Center offers comprehensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy across Sterling, Rock Falls, Dixon, and surrounding areas including direct, one-to-one therapy services, in-depth caregiver training as well as consultation services. ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on improving socially significant behaviors by breaking down complex skills into smaller components and using positive reinforcement to teach and reinforce those skills. ABA therapy is most commonly used as a treatment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD), but it can also be used to treat other developmental and behavioral disorders.
The role of the Autism Center’s RBT involves delivering direct adaptive behavior services to clients of the Autism Center in the client’s home as well as in the clinic. The RBT is responsible for running skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and collaborating with the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality behavior analytic treatment.
