Join us in assisting our heroes with receiving the benefits they have earned while protecting our freedom. We are compassionate about serving our Veterans, Service Members, and Providers!
Would you like to serve America's Veterans from the comfort and convenience of your presently established private practice?
Military Evaluation Services (MES) is hiring an OPTOMETRIST to perform full eye examinations, visual field (format flexible), and possible eye disease assessments for America’s Veterans and Service Member disability claims. We can provide visual field equipment if you don't have it. The disability exam process provides the support that allows the VA to determine service-connection status and rating (monetary disbursement) for the Veteran.
The evaluations are scheduled for one 1 hour. The ideal OPTOMETRIST candidate is able to see 5 to 16 Veterans per week. Training is paid at a flat fee.
The OPTOMETRIST considers the eye examination results, medical history, and active-duty records to develop an opinion on the disability claim and enters it into the portal. However, the actual decision is made by the Veterans Benefits Administration, not the provider. There is no treatment, scheduling, or billing on the part of the OPTOMETRIST.
ATTENTION:
If you currently work for Veterans Affairs and would like this position part-time, the VA permits you to do so with a clearance letter.
