Software Quality Engineer — Verification & Test (Temporary)

Madison, WI (on-site)  ·  Temporary with option for extension  ·  Entry level to 5 years

Atrility is a quickly growing, Madison-based start-up which provides a novel solution to detecting high risk heart complications in cardiothoracic perioperative settings. Atrility’s AtriAmp product has become the standard of care for pediatric patients, and is being rapidly adopted across the US. Our current clients are the world’s leading pediatric organizations, and our investors include marquee hospital systems.

Role Description

We are looking for a careful, reliable engineer to support software verification on a medical-device software project. You will review source code and automated tests against written requirements, help execute verification activities, and document what you find with rigor and honesty.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Review production source code and automated tests (Python, TypeScript) against written requirements
• Assess whether tests genuinely verify what they claim to verify
• Execute and document software verification activities under our quality system
• Run automated test suites and independently reproduce results
• Document findings clearly
• Maintain organized, audit-ready records of review work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a degree in a related field with a CS minor (required)
• 0–5 years of software engineering, QA, or test experience
• Able to read Python and TypeScript/React code
• Meticulous, trustworthy, and self-directed — comfortable saying “I don’t know” and asking questions
• Interest and experience in medical devices or safety-critical software is a plus
• Must be able to work on-site in Madison, WI

Compensation

$28–35/hour depending on experience + $3,000 bonus on successful completion (employed through the end date; review deliverables accepted — not tied to what the review finds).

Temporary position; extension and potential conversion based on performance and business need.
