The Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for supporting the creation, production, and maintenance of ACCC's visual communications across print and digital platforms. This role assists with the design and execution of marketing materials, educational resources, social media graphics, email assets, presentations, website graphics, and other branded collateral that supports the organization's mission and strategic initiatives. Working closely with the Creative Services Assistant Manager, marketing team, internal stakeholders, and external vendors, the Junior Graphic Designer helps ensure projects are completed accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with ACCC's brand standards. This position plays an important role in supporting the organization's visual identity, enhancing audience engagement, and contributing to the successful execution of marketing, education, membership, and event initiatives. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, collaborative, eager to learn, and comfortable managing multiple design projects in a fast-paced, mission-driven healthcare association environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Graphic Designer supports the development and production of visual communications that advance the Association of Cancer Care Centers' (ACCC) marketing, educational, membership, events, and corporate relations initiatives. This role assists with the creation of print and digital materials, helps maintain ACCC brand standards, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to support organizational communications and member engagement. Working closely with the Creative Services Assistant Manager and cross-functional teams, the Junior Graphic Designer contributes to the development of creative assets that support ACCC's mission, educational programs, conferences, membership initiatives, marketing campaigns, and strategic priorities. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, eager to learn, highly organized, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced remote environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities listed below represent the primary functions of the role and include, but are not limited to, the following:


Graphic Design & Content Development

  • Design and produce visual assets for websites, email campaigns, social media, digital publications, reports, conference materials, presentations, infographics, brochures, flyers, advertisements, and other marketing collateral.
  • Assist in adapting existing creative assets for various formats, audiences, and communication channels.
  • Support the design and production of event signage, conference materials, sponsorship deliverables, promotional items, and branded collateral.
  • Prepare files for both digital distribution and print production.
  • Assist with image editing, formatting, layout revisions, and production of existing creative assets.


Brand Management & Creative Quality

  • Apply ACCC brand standards consistently across all visual communications.
  • Ensure visual consistency across campaigns, communication channels, and deliverables.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing brand templates, design files, image libraries, and creative assets.
  • Participate in quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and brand compliance.


Digital Marketing & Website Support

  • Create graphics optimized for website performance, usability, accessibility, and digital marketing initiatives.
  • Support website content updates, including images, graphics, and basic layout modifications.
  • Assist with preparing digital assets for email marketing campaigns, landing pages, online education, and social media platforms.
  • Ensure creative assets are properly optimized for both web and print applications.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Communications, Education, Membership, Corporate Relations, and Events teams to support organizational initiatives.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and creative brainstorming sessions.
  • Communicate effectively regarding project timelines, revisions, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback while balancing project deadlines and organizational priorities.
  • Support multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.


Project & Asset Management

  • Maintain organized project files, design assets, templates, and version control.
  • Follow established creative workflows and approval processes.
  • Coordinate with printers, vendors, and external partners as needed.
  • Assist in managing project timelines and ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule.


Professional Development

  • Stay current with graphic design trends, emerging technologies, accessibility standards, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new software, design techniques, and creative approaches.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES


Graphic Design & Creativity

  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, branding, composition, and visual storytelling.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including:
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Illustrator

  • Experience with Canva.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of digital file formats and print production.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Fine Arts, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Zero (0) to two (2) years of professional graphic design experience, including internships or freelance work.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong digital and print design work.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.


Preferred

  • Experience supporting healthcare, nonprofit, association, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience creating marketing materials for conferences, educational programs, or membership organizations.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS), such as Sanity or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with project management software, such as Asana or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of accessibility principles and best practices for digital design.
  • Experience designing digital marketing campaigns, email communications, and social media assets.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Fully remote work environment requiring prolonged computer use.
  • Frequent collaboration through Microsoft Teams and other digital communication platforms.
  • Regular use of Adobe Creative Suite and project management software.
  • Occasional coordination with vendors, printers, and conference production partners.
