The Operations Assistant is responsible for the overall quality of medical care provided to the residents. Oversees the medicine management, medical staff evaluations, and resident’s medical experience in the community. Ensures that the medical staff understands the standard of care as defined by Aspen Creek and that those standards are met.

Reports to:  Clinical Director 

Description of Position:

The Operations Assistant is responsible for the overall quality of medical care provided to the residents. Oversees the medicine management, medical staff evaluations, and resident’s medical experience in the community. Ensures that the medical staff understands the standard of care as defined by Aspen Creek and that those standards are met.


Responsibilities:

Med Management

●      Manage residents’ medications in accordance with family, physician and pharmacy.

o   Process new medications as they are prescribed and filled

o   Update any medication changes or medication discontinuations in EHR

●      Under the direction of the registered nurse, manage medication, oversees the administration of medications to residents, order medication from pharmacy and maintain records as dictated in the policies and procedures manual. 

●      Assures that medications are properly stored, medication carts/cupboards are cleaned and the medication room is organized according to standards.

 

Evaluations

●      Assist the RN with delegated tasks related to evaluations and corrective actions of clinical staff. 

 

Resident Medical Care

●      Assist with initial assessments for new potential residents, as directed by the clinical director.

●      Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings

●      Conduct revaluations for existing residents, as directed by the clinical director. 

o   30 day revaluations

o   4-month revaluations

o   Change in condition revaluations

●      Shares on call duties as required.

●      Serves as a liaison for staff, management, power of attorneys (POA’s)/family members, healthcare providers for assigned quality care measures. 

 

Quality

●      Audit med tech tasks completed by med tech staff and offer coaching when necessary

●      Audit medication pass procedures provided by care & med coordinators 

●      Ensure that all care training compliance standards are met. 

●      Participates in department quality improvement activities, to include completion of quality assurance surveys as assigned by Executive Director and/or the Clinical Director.

●      Oversees all aspects of the quality program, including quality measurement, reporting, quality improvement and high reliability. 

●      Leads and directs process and overall quality improvement activities that produce better resident medical care and more efficient operations. Implements a strategy and plans for a quality improvement function within the facility in collaboration with other cross-functional departments.

●      Participates in community functions including family socials and open houses. 

●      Communicates with community professionals.

●      Clinical staff scheduling under supervision of the RN.

●      Other duties as assigned.

Salary

$20 - $22 per hour
