Description

Grant Writer: We are seeking a volunteer Grant Writer for a 3-month contract to work with Asian Connections Hub with a start date of June 3rd, 2025. The Grant Writer will research and identify grant opportunities from public and private funding sources that align with ACH’s mission and create compelling, persuasive, well-structured grant narratives using effective storytelling and superior prose while effectively connecting the organization’s mission to aligned funds and grants. The Grant Writer will directly be reporting to our Head of Development at ACH. 


Key Responsibilities:


  1. You bring experience in fundraising and grant writing, and you are comfortable navigating the world of nonprofit funding.
  2. Research and identify grant opportunities from public and private funding sources that align with ACH’s mission
  3. Draft, review, and submit persuasive grant proposals that align with funding guidelines and organizational objectives.
  4. Creating compelling, persuasive, well-structured grant narratives using effective storytelling and superior prose while effectively tying the organization’s needs to fund priorities.
  5. Ensure compliance with grant regulations and reporting requirements.
  6. Conduct market and industry research to strengthen grant applications.
  7. Analyze grant outcomes and provide recommendations for future improvements.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 year of experience with a proven track record of successfully securing funding for organizations.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Expertise in researching, analyzing and applying for grants and funding opportunities, amplifying the organization's chances of getting grants or funds within the period.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with funding agencies, grantor expectations, and legislative processes.
  • Experience with data analysis, financial reporting, and policy evaluation.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Suite


EXPECTATIONS

  • This is a volunteer role; we’re asking for a maximum of 3-5 hours/week to contribute. No volunteer should be exceeding these hours without communication to their manager
  • Must attend meetings for team meetings and 1:1s
  • Communication is key and participation is required to commit to the project
