Job Summary

The Board of Ashe Developmental Day School (ADDS) is actively seeking a passionate

and qualified Pre-K Teacher to join our dynamic team. At ADDS, we are dedicated to

fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment where

every child can thrive. Our program emphasizes individualized learning in a supportive

setting for children of all abilities.

PreK B-K Teacher Duties and Responsibilities

As a Pre-K Teacher at Ashe Developmental Day School, you’ll create an engaging,

child-centered classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, physical, and

intellectual growth of each student. Using state frameworks, you’ll design

developmentally appropriate lessons tailored to each child’s unique needs and abilities

and monitor student progress toward school readiness goals. Ensuring a clean, safe,

and nurturing environment is just as essential as what happens in the lesson plan.

In addition to daily instruction and individualized planning, you’ll play a vital role in

fostering strong relationships with families, collaborating with support staff, coordinating

with community partners, and guiding classroom assistants. Your work will help bridge

home and school, promote inclusion, and prepare young learners for success both in

and beyond the classroom.

PreK B-K Teacher Experience and Qualifications

• The PreK B-K Teacher shall hold, or be working toward a North Carolina (NC)

Birth through Kindergarten (B-K) Continuing License or B-K or Pre-K/K Add-on

License issued by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction

• Teachers working toward the required education and license shall meet one of

the following requirements: (1) a NC B-K Initial License;(2) a NC Lateral Entry B-

K License; (3) a NC Residency B-K License; (4) a NC Emergency B-K License

as determined by the Early Educator Support, Licensure and Professional

Development (EESLPD) Unit; (5) another NC Educator's License and a

Provisional B-K or Pre-K/K license; (6) another state's license; or (7) a BA/BS

degree and be eligible for a NC Residency B-K License
