ASCEND South Side and Point Breeze are seeking yoga instructors for a cross-disciplinary yoga program. Instructors will be responsible for providing clients with a safe and exceptional class experience, fostering a supportive environment with clients and among the instructor team and across all departments of ASCEND, and marketing and growing their classes. Yoga classes at ASCEND are always 60 minutes long with allotted time for class prep and cleanup.

About Our Yoga Classes

The studios at ASCEND offers a full schedule of varied yoga class styles and workshops led by experienced and dedicated teachers. All classes will help students develop, maintain, and progress their yoga and meditation practice, while focusing on proper alignment and form.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Create personal connections with each student and be invested in their personal yoga journey
  • Actively promote yourself and the ASCEND yoga program
  • Teach a minimum of 1 class/week by holding to a recurring schedule you can commit to
  • Optionally, plan and execute yoga workshops
  • Support your team and sub whenever able
  • Secure substitute teachers whenever necessary
  • Set up classroom appropriately with preferred props, music, and lighting
  • Tidy the studio before and after every class
  • Focus on client safety by providing thoughtful sequencing and specific alignment cues
  • Participate in team meetings and attend local and regional events when appropriate
  • Stay up to date with any relevant certifications and trainings
  • Safely sequence classes that address students needs and abilities
  • Check in participants via gym software

Qualities & Experience

Formal yoga teacher certification is preferred, but not required. Please be prepared to speak to your professional training and experience.

Salary

$22 or more per hour, depending on experience
