Job Overview: Fitness Instructors at ASCEND are responsible for leading safe, engaging fitness classes for all ability levels.


Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop an appropriate warmup, workout, & cool down for all ability levels for each class you teach
  • Ensure that participants are using correct form in order to decrease the risk for injury
  • Effectively coach participants through progression & regression of all movements if necessary 
  • Provide an energetic, engaging, and supportive atmosphere to participants
  • Check in participants on our CRM
  • Actively promote yourself and the ASCEND fitness program.
  • Teach a minimum of 2 classes/week.
  • Support your team and sub once every 2 months (if needed)
  • Keep the fitness area and equipment tidy.


Qualities & Experience

  • 4+ years of experience with fitness or sports-related activity 
  • 1+ years in the professional fitness industry
  • Effective & efficient workout modification experience
  • Previous Group Fitness Exercise experience with classes of 15 or more (Examples: Cross-Fit, pilates, boot camp, plyometrics, etc.)
  • Effective communication skills
  • An understanding of current trends in fitness (locomotives, HIIT, mobility training, kettlebells)


We're looking for someone available for at least 2 one-hour classes, plus occasional substitution for other instructors. Openings include weeknights after 6p and/or weekend mornings.

Salary

$16 - $20 per hour
