JOB SUMMARY

The Organization Driver plays a vital role in the daily lives of the women we serve by providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation to and from appointments, programming, and other essential destinations in the community. This position requires sound judgment, punctuality, and a calm, steady presence, as participants often depend on this transportation to access employment, healthcare, recovery services, and family connections critical to their reentry journey. The Organization Driver works closely with program staff to ensure transportation needs are met safely and consistently, contributing directly to participants' stability and success.


RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

●     Safely transport participants to and from specified locations in a timely manner.

●     Follow traffic laws at all times while operating or parking the vehicle.

●     Use navigation applications safely to adjust travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction.

●     Inform the Operations Director of any tickets issued against the company vehicle within 24 hours and report any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage immediately and according to the incident reporting process.

●     Ensure the organization vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking to avoid towing.

●     Keep the organization vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning, and vehicle maintenance. (See Company Vehicle Usage policy for more information.)

●     Maintain accurate mileage records and repair records.

●     Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.

●     Attend weekly or monthly group supervision/team/staff meetings as needed.

●     Support other administrative and program needs, such as office pickups and drop-offs.


SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES

The Organization Driver must demonstrate a passion for and willingness to support Arise Collective's mission, vision, values and work and possess the following:

●     Valid North Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record.

●     Approved by Arise Collective's auto insurer and meet and maintain the requirements of the company vehicle usage policy.

●     Knowledge of road safety regulations.

●     Working knowledge of local roads and routes.

●     The ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals.

●     Punctuality and reliability, integrity and excellent judgment.

●     Effective communication skills.

●     Basic computer skills and ability to use online systems and communications and transportation applications.


DESIRED QUALITIES

●     High school diploma or equivalent.

●     Strong work ethic, a high degree of patience, and grit to push through difficult challenges.

●     Adaptability, and an ability to remain poised under pressure.

●     Strong time and task management (i.e. ability to plan, schedule, and execute).


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the physical ability required to operate a vehicle. Requires excellent hand-eye-foot coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp; visual acuity to use a keyboard and other equipment. WORK REQUIREMENTS

This is an off-site position with a primary purpose to safely transport participants to and from destinations in the community. Travel will mainly be in Wake County, NC for up to 30 hours per week. Regular early mornings, some late evenings, and some weekends required. The impact of actions is great in this position with potential harm to participant safety and well-being.


JOB TYPE:

Non-exempt part-time position.


SALARY RANGE:

$18 to $22 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include a retirement plan with employer match, pre-tax benefit options, and pro-rated paid time off and leave.
