As the Medical Assistant, you will monitor patients receiving treatments. This position will participate in the consultation and assessment of patients, monitor patient response to treatment, provide educational information and complete patient notes. This role will perform administrative aspects by coordinating care with other providers, agencies, and staff.
Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide excellent patient care and treat patients struggling with depression and suicidal ideation and behavior.
- Monitor and log vital signs
- Prepare and administer medications under the supervision of a clinical provider.
- Properly dispose of waste and contaminated materials
- Assist in coordinating follow up appointments
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record software to manage patient files electronically
- Track and order supplies
- Request patient medical records and update charts upon receipt
- Provide prescription information and refill authorization to pharmacies
- Monitor all aspects of the treatment sessions for patient comfort and treatment accuracy for two hours. Perform regularly scheduled vitals and documents in visit note and a REMS monitoring form that must be submitted for every treatment.
- Provide compassionate service to all patients, ensuring a positive experience.
- Communicate effectively with providers, clinic staff and patients
- Prepare and clean procedure rooms
Requirements
- 1+ year of direct patient care experience.
- Medical Assistant/EMT Certification.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record and managing prescription refills
Salary
$16 - $17 per hour
