EXPECTED ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

CLIENT SERVICE

• Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact and act as client lead on assigned workstreams
• Own multiple client and team deadlines and deliverables from assignment through completion
• Establish, maintain and deepen productive relationships with clients and agency partners
• Understand client business strategy, products and services, key customers and the competitive landscape well enough to anticipate needs
• Prepare and quality-check client status and activity reports, monitoring reports and competitor coverage; ensure meetings and logistics run smoothly

CAMPAIGN STRATEGY

• Support development of client strategies from concept through execution and measurement, contributing research, ideas and tactical recommendations

CONTENT CREATION

• Consistently produce quality brand marketing & communications content
• Research, outline, write, edit and proofread materials for client campaigns (traditional & social)
• Develop marketing, media and messaging materials: press releases, media advisories, talking points, etc.
• Review and strengthen junior staff drafts before senior or client review

MEDIA, COMMUNITY & INFLUENCER ENGAGEMENT

• Develop and execute media relations strategies and outreach to elevate client storytelling and narrative
• Oversee development of accurate, targeted media lists aligned with client objectives and campaign goals
• Build and maintain general market and multicultural media and social influencer relationships on behalf of clients and agency
• Identify, establish and maintain productive relationships with editors, reporters, bloggers and influencers
• Stay informed with daily news consumption and monitoring
• Share and act on proactive opportunities for client engagement in traditional and social media

NEW BUSINESS

• Support new business efforts through prospect research, presentation development and participation in pitch preparation

TEAM ENGAGEMENT

• Oversee and mentor junior staff, reviewing work and helping grow their skillsets
• Work proactively with team members and colleagues of all levels

ONGOING LEARNING

• Keep abreast of industry trends, cultural movements and moments to help team and clients navigate opportunities mindfully
• Seek opportunities to take on new challenges and learn new skills for the benefit of professional growth, team and client output

FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP

• Support the team in managing and tracking client time and expenses against scope

REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines
• Strong work ethic and dedication to consistently provide quality work to the team and clients
• Demonstrated media relations results and strong project management skills, with the ability to run workstreams independently
• At least 3-4 years of experience in the communications field or relevant industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient in media/distribution platforms (e.g., Muck Rack, Cision) and familiar with monitoring/analytics tools (e.g., Meltwater, Google Analytics, social insights)
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university, or related work experience
• Bilingual with the ability to read and write in Spanish
