EXPECTED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

CLIENT SERVICE

• Serve as a day-to-day team contact, supporting senior staff in client communications
• Meet multiple client and team deadlines and deliverables as assigned
• Establish and maintain productive working relationships with clients and agency partners
• Understand key client information including business strategy, products and services, key customers and competitors
• Prepare client status and activity reports, compile media/social monitoring reports and competitor coverage summaries, and handle meeting scheduling and logistics

CAMPAIGN STRATEGY

• Support execution of client campaign strategies developed by senior team members

CONTENT CREATION

• Consistently produce quality brand marketing & communications content
• Develop and maintain media lists, and support submission of press releases for distribution
• Research, outline, write, edit and proofread materials for client campaigns (traditional & social)
• Draft marketing, media and messaging materials: press releases, media advisories, talking points, etc.
• Develop social media posts and content
• Support development of client newsletters/e-blasts

MEDIA, COMMUNITY & INFLUENCER ENGAGEMENT

• Support execution of media outreach on behalf of clients and agency
• Build relationships with general market and multicultural media editors, reporters and social influencers
• Stay informed with daily news consumption and monitoring
• Flag proactive opportunities for client engagement in traditional and social media to senior team members

TEAM ENGAGEMENT

• Supervise interns/trainees and help grow their skillsets
• Work proactively with team members and colleagues of all levels

ONGOING LEARNING

• Keep abreast of industry trends, cultural movements and moments to help team and clients navigate opportunities mindfully
• Seek opportunities to take on new challenges and learn new skills for the benefit of professional growth, team and client output

FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP

• Track and submit personal time and expenses accurately and on schedule

REQUIREMENTS 

• Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines
• Strong work ethic and dedication to consistently provide quality work to the team and clients
• Strong writing fundamentals across formats (media materials, social content, client correspondence)
• At least 1-2 years of experience in the communications field or relevant industry 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Familiarity with media databases and distribution platforms (e.g., Muck Rack, Cision) 
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university, or related work experience
• Bilingual with the ability to read and write in Spanish
