Our new office in Herndon, Virginia is seeking a personable team player for a full-time Medical Assistant position. As a start-up we are looking to build a culture focused on achieving excellence in the patient experience. The Medical Assistant position works as part of the health care team in delivering a high level of patient care. As a founding member, you would shape the position to our needs as we grow into a destination practice.

In addition to a strong commitment to customer service, the ideal candidate must have the ability to multi-task in a busy office, have a positive attitude, and be a team player!

Duties:


  • ‪Triage patients and present to provider‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
  • Assist provider during exam and scribe for provider into electronic health record
  • Return patient phone messages with provider instruction
  • Assist front desk when necessary
  • Escort patients to and from examination rooms
  • Obtain medical histories, chief complaints, screen patients to prepare for physician examination
  • Assist patients with physical needs as necessary, e.g. getting dressed Instruct patients to medications, wound care, etc
  • Set up and maintain sterile field, drape, clean, prep, and assist multiple surgeons with facial surgeries including facelifts, eyelid surgeries, mohs closures, and minor procedures
  • Patient Education
  • Clean and prep room for next patient
  • Apply medical dressings
  • Maintain appearance of examination rooms
  • Stocking medical rooms
  • Assist physician with minor surgery or biopsies
  • Complete paperwork for laboratories
  • Oversee biopsy/blood work tracking
  • Assist physician with reporting test results to patients
  • Obtaining prior authorizations on behalf of patients
  • Clean and sterilize surgical equipment
  • Ordering supplies, keeping inventory stocked, and moving expirable products on timely basis
  • Clean and test autoclave
  • Filing and copying of documents

Job Type:


  • Full-time: Monday – Friday, 8 am- 5:00 pm

Experience:


  • 1 year of Medical Assistant experience is highly preferred
  • 1 year of EMR system experience is preferred

Education:


  • HS Diploma of equivalent
