Job Summary:
As a Warehouse and Inspection Specialist, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording shipments with raw materials or products. You will be responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders. A Warehouse and Inspection Specialist must have a great eye for detail and basic math skills. They must also have adequate physical strength to unload shipping as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers. The goal is to ensure we receive the correct packages and stock them appropriately.
Job Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
- Unload delivery trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
- Contact the supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
- Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
- Maintain your work area in a clean and organized fashion at all times
- Lift heavy objects from a truck, from overhead or off of the ground
- Inspect for damaged goods that may have occurred during shipping
- Identify any bottlenecks in the process
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
- Proven attention to detail and quality in a production environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years’ experience as a warehouse, inspection, receiving clerk or similar position
- Experience in operating forklift and forklift certification
- Basic math and recording abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English
- Knowledgeable in shipping management and transaction software, as well as MS Office
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, or move for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform repetitive hand movements.
- Frequent use of tools and visual inspections require focus and dexterity.
