General Labor Field Staff
The Field Technician is a hands-on role responsible for performing a wide variety of remodeling, renovation, and repair tasks. Working under the direction of a Project Manager, you will be crucial to the successful, timely, and high-quality completion of our projects. The ideal candidate is a versatile, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for skilled trades. This position begins as PRN (as needed) with a strong potential to evolve into a part-time or full-time role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute a wide range of hands-on remodeling and renovation tasks, including but not limited to:
* Carpentry (framing, trim, finish work)
* Deck and fence construction and repair
* General landscaping and hardscaping
* Interior and exterior painting and finishing
* General home renovations and handy work
* Collaborate with and take direction from Project Managers to complete assigned tasks efficiently and within the project timeline.
* Maintain a high standard of quality and craftsmanship in all work performed.
* Diligently document daily progress, including notes and photos, using our company's project management software on a smartphone or tablet.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work site at all times.
* Assist with or conduct on-site client consultations to assess project scope and provide professional input as required.
* Manage and maintain company tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
* Communicate effectively with Project Managers regarding project status, material needs, and any challenges that may arise.
Qualifications and Skills
* Required:
* Proven experience in general construction, remodeling, or a related field.
* Demonstrated proficiency in at least three of the following areas: carpentry, fencing, decking, landscaping, painting, or general handy work.
* Possession of basic hand tools and a reliable set of power tools.
* Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
* Comfortable using smartphones and software applications for daily reporting.
* A valid driver's license and reliable transportation capable of transporting tools and some materials.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Preferred:
* Experience with client-facing communication or consultations.
* Work is performed at various job sites, both indoors and outdoors, and may involve exposure to different weather conditions.
* This position is physically demanding. It requires the ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50-75 lbs), stand for extended periods, kneel, bend, and work on ladders or scaffolding.
