Description

The Mental Health Therapist, LMFT, LCPC, LPC, LGPC, LGMFT provides individual, couple, and family therapy to clients of diverse backgrounds. The LMFT uses a systemic, trauma-informed and other suitable modalities to address relational, emotional, and psychological issues. This role is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention, and collaboration with other care providers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Conduct psychotherapy with individuals, couples, and families.

·        Assess relational issues, family dynamics, and intergenerational patterns.

·        Utilize family systems theory and techniques to address mental health concerns.

·        Support clients with life transitions, trauma, grief, parenting, and conflict resolution.

·        Coordinate care with psychologists and psychiatrists as needed.

·        Document treatment progress and adjust goals as necessary.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Current and valid LMFT, LCPC, LPC, LGPC, LGMFT license in the state of MD.
  • Demonstrated experience providing therapy to diverse populations including underserved communities.
  • Knowledge of family systems theory, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with children and adolescents, as well as diverse populations and trauma-impacted clients.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Have malpractice insurance


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with group therapy or psych educational workshops.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Medi-Cal, or insurance billing practices.
  • Training in CBT, EMDR, DBT, or other evidence-based models.
  • Knowledge of family system therapy interventions.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·        Primary work is performed onsite at the community mental health clinic, with some opportunities for remote telehealth sessions.

·        Flexible scheduling may include some evening or weekend hours to accommodate clients.

·        Caseload will include a mix of ages and presenting problems, depending on program placement.

Salary

$35 - $60 per hour
