Job Title: Systems Tester II/QA Tester and Consultant

Location: Hybrid Remote Onsite in Columbia, SC

Pay Rate: $36 per hour with benefits

Contract Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Systems Tester II/QA Tester and Consultant to join our team. This is a hybrid remote onsite position located in Columbia, SC, and requires the successful candidate to provide services for multiple clients, including onsite service where needed.

The successful candidate will be responsible for making recommendations to clients on how to improve testing activities, tracking quality assurance metrics, and participating in the design phase of projects to ensure that new or modified functions are developed using correct testing methodology. Additionally, the candidate will arrange major activities between the client and IS staff to ensure maximum gain from technical resources.

Responsibilities:

• Provide service for multiple clients, including onsite service where needed.
• Make recommendations to clients on how to improve testing activities.
• Track quality assurance metrics.
• Participate in the design phase of projects to ensure that new or modified functions are developed using correct testing methodology.
• Arrange major activities between the client and IS staff to ensure maximum gain from technical resources.
• Complete supportive administrative and lead activities such as attending sessions with customers, planning and disbursing projects to team members, completing reports, and developing processes.
• Perform testing duties which may involve reviewing test data, creating test cases, executing testing, and monitoring/documenting results.
• Mentor and provide guidance to testing staff.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree or 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree.
• 5 years of IT experience to include experience developing test plans and/or matrices.
• Excellent project planning, organization, and management skills.
• Thorough understanding of data processing terminology, operations, and architecture utilized in debugging application/environmental problems.
• Thorough understanding of systems migration processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Skill in testing data creation and manipulation.
• Ability to understand functional connections between applications.
• Ability to utilize test requirements, specifications, diagrams, logic functions, etc.
• Knowledge of JAVA, Websphere, Windows, and other middleware platforms.
• Knowledge of DB2, Oracle, IMS, and VSAM.
• Skill in whitebox testing, integration testing, static testing, and 508 compliance testing utilizing JAWS software.

Work Environment:

This position is critical in the application development process, testing new or modified applications to make sure they will work in the client’s operating environment. The work environment is fast-paced and multi-platformed, which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
