We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Programmer to write, debug, and control computer systems software located in Columbia, South Carolina. The successful candidate will provide key technical and disaster recovery support, coordinate installations, and contribute to maintenance efforts. This project is from 10/2/2023 through 9/27/2024, with the rate of $46/hr W2 with benefits. This role is onsite, requiring at least three days a week, and is not a remote position. We place a strong emphasis on JCL experience as well as other key technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose, isolate, and debug software problems. Identify vendor-responsible issues and refer them appropriately (40%).
- Coordinate installation, testing, and maintenance of systems software while minimizing user impact (35%).
- Evaluate customer requests and system capabilities to implement changes or additions (10%).
- Cross-train in all areas of systems programming for efficient on-call rotation (10%).
- Provide technical and disaster recovery support (5%).
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills
- Expertise in systems programming, graphical user interfaces, control languages, and QA
- Thorough understanding of current productivity tools in systems programming
- Ability to review and analyze systems software to recommend performance solutions
Required Software and Other Tools
- Standard office equipment
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Or 4 years of job-related work experience
- Or 2 years of job-related experience with an associate's degree
- 6 years IT work experience, specifically in varied systems programming
