THE ROLE

You'll own features end to end across AlphaSignal's Next.js frontend, Express REST API, MongoDB data layer, and AWS infrastructure. You'll build product experiences, design and maintain APIs, work across two MongoDB Atlas databases, and help operate the containerized services behind the platform. When something breaks or slows down, you diagnose it, ship the fix, and verify the recovery.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

3-5 years of full stack engineering experience with production ownership of a non-trivial system.

TypeScript at a professional level, including strict typing across frontend and backend applications.

React and Next.js expertise, including the App Router, Server and Client Components, routing, data fetching, authentication, and reusable component architecture.

Node.js and Express experience building secure REST APIs, middleware, controllers, background jobs, and integrations.

MongoDB experience using the native driver, including data modeling, indexes, query performance, connection pooling, and working across multiple databases.

Frontend depth with Tailwind CSS, responsive design, accessibility, and translating product requirements into polished interfaces.

Authentication and application security experience, including NextAuth, JWT sessions, OAuth, password hashing, CORS, rate limiting, request limits, and input sanitization.

AWS and infrastructure experience with Docker, ECS Fargate, ECR, Application Load Balancers, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, S3, and SES.

Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, automated quality checks, and infrastructure as code.

Solid engineering practices, including type checking, linting, testing, observability, structured logging, code review, and production troubleshooting.

Fluent with modern AI development tools such as Cursor and similar coding assistants.

Experience with high-traffic content, publishing, newsletter, or subscription platforms.

Experience with Stripe checkout, subscriptions, billing portals, and signed webhooks.

Experience with PostHog, Google Analytics, or similar product analytics platforms.

Experience with Recharts or other data visualization libraries.

Experience with GitHub OAuth and APIs, Hugging Face integrations, Loops, Discord alerts, or partner webhooks.

Experience with Pino, CloudFormation, or production ECS autoscaling.

Early-stage startup experience.
