The Psychological Associate (PSB) – Health Psychology is a pre-licensed mental health professional registered with the California Board of Psychology and working under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. This role is designed for clinicians developing specialty experience in Health Psychology and Integrated Behavioral Health, supporting patients with medical, chronic, or health-related conditions while completing supervised hours toward licensure.
Clinical Services
Provide individual, couples, family, and/or group psychotherapy under supervision, based on training, competency, and clinical assignment with a focus on health-related and biopsychosocial presentations.
Deliver evidence-based behavioral health interventions for patients with chronic illness, pain, sleep issues, stress-related conditions, and medical comorbidities.
Conduct clinical interviews, screening measures, and diagnostic evaluations as appropriate.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising psychologist.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA and practice standards.
Supervision & Professional Development
Receive a minimum of one (1) hour of individual, face-to-face supervision per week in accordance with California Board of Psychology requirements.
Actively integrate supervisory feedback to strengthen clinical skills and professional judgment.
Participate in case consultation, team meetings, and training activities supporting Health Psychology and integrated care.
Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards including APA guidelines, California regulations, and company policies.
Ensure compliance with documentation, reporting, and use of the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Maintain active PSB registration and promptly notify supervision of any status changes.
Support clinic initiatives related to integrated care, quality improvement, or program development as assigned.
Required
Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited program.
Active registration as a Psychological Associate (PSB) with the California Board of Psychology.
Clinical training or experience relevant to Health Psychology or medically informed behavioral health.
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively under supervision.
Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional development.
Preferred
Training or experience in Health Psychology, Integrated Behavioral Health, or medical settings.
Familiarity with evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR or other clinically appropriate approaches.
Experience working with multidisciplinary or integrated care teams.
Exposure to insurance-based or outpatient clinical environments.
• Pay Range: $45–$65 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated capability.
