We are seeking a passionate and motivated Research & Policy Intern to join our team for Summer 2025. This internship is ideal for a law student, graduate student in public affairs or public policy, or advanced undergraduate.

Unpaid Internship | Remote or Austin-based | Part-time or Full-time | Summer 2025


About Us:

Allies Against Slavery is a national organization harnessing data to illuminate and eradicate human trafficking. Our dedicated team is building a future where every community has the data it needs to make victims visible and prevent human trafficking. Our flagship data platform, Lighthouse, empowers communities to respond more effectively to trafficking.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on key legislators driving anti-trafficking policy at the state level.
  • Analyze state human trafficking policy initiatives and legislation.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with key stakeholders in strategic states.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including developing contact lists for strategic outreach.


Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s program (e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Law, Public Policy, Social Work).
  • Strong interest in human rights, social justice, and combating human trafficking.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of human trafficking issues and related legal frameworks is preferred but not required.


Time Commitment:

20-40 hours per week for minimum of 8 weeks


Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship. Allies is happy to support the intern in obtaining academic credit and/or stipends through their institution.
