We are seeking a mission-driven Development & Fundraising Intern to join our team for Summer 2025. This internship is ideal for an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in nonprofit management, public administration, philanthropy, or a related field who wants hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement strategy.

About Us:

Allies Against Slavery is a national organization harnessing data to illuminate and eradicate human trafficking. Our dedicated team is building a future where every community has the data it needs to make victims visible and prevent human trafficking. Our flagship data platform, Lighthouse, empowers communities to respond more effectively to trafficking.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support prospect research for individual, foundation, and corporate donors
  • Assist in drafting grant proposals, donor communications, and stewardship materials
  • Help maintain and update donor CRM data
  • Contribute to planning and execution of summer development campaigns or events
  • Collaborate with program and communications teams to align fundraising with impact stories
  • Analyze giving trends and support reporting to funders and internal stakeholders


Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s program (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Public Affairs, Philanthropy)
  • Strong written communication and research skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Passion for social justice, human rights, and anti-trafficking efforts
  • Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Hubspot) a plus, but not required


Time Commitment:

20-40 hours per week for minimum of 8 weeks


Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship. Allies is happy to support the intern in obtaining academic credit and/or stipends through their institution.
