Description

About Us

Alanna Betts Art Therapy and Counseling is a private practice in Herndon, VA, offering individual therapy that integrates art therapy with traditional clinical approaches. We're growing our team and looking for an Associate Clinical Therapist to join us as an employee (W2), starting with coverage for a maternity leave and growing into their own full caseload.

About the Role

This position starts as maternity leave coverage, stepping into an existing caseload, with the opportunity to build your own full-time caseload over time as you settle into the practice. All sessions are conducted in-person at our Herndon office.

This is a great opportunity for a Resident in Counseling or ATR-P clinician looking for a supportive, art-therapy-informed practice to grow their clinical skills and complete licensure requirements.

What We Offer

  • W2 employment with a practice-supported caseload
  • Clinical supervision provided for Residents in Counseling and ATR-P clinicians working toward full licensure
  • A caseload that grows with you — start with coverage work and build toward a full-time practice
  • A collaborative, art-therapy-informed clinical environment in a warm, established practice
  • Portion of trainings covered by the practice in approved areas (e.g. EMDR, Eating Disorders, Perinatal)
  • Openness to negotiate for additional benefits (e.g. healthcare, 401k, etc.)

What You'll Do

  • Provide in-person individual therapy sessions at our Herndon office or virtually through secure tele-health platform
  • Cover an existing caseload during a maternity leave, then build your own client caseload over time
  • Complete timely clinical documentation as required by the practice and all licensing bodies (progress notes, treatment plans, mental status exams)
  • Participate in required clinical supervision and consultation
  • Follow practice procedures for intake, scheduling, and client communication
  • Manage your schedule and communicate scheduling to clients

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling or Art Therapy, (Preference for Art Therapy)
  • Active registration as a Resident in Counseling, Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC, (or equivalent supervised licensure track) and ATR-P, ATR, or ATR-BC credential
  • Ability to work in-person at our Herndon, VA office
