Our teachers provide classroom-based childcare in church nurseries, preschool classrooms, and children's ministry environments — including leading short, provided Bible lessons and devotionals as part of the classroom routine. This is a flexible opportunity for experienced childcare professionals, teachers, students, and children's ministry volunteers who enjoy working with young children and want meaningful part-time work.

This is not only one-on-one babysitting. Assignments involve caring for groups of children in a classroom setting, including leading age-appropriate Bible lessons. Teachers may be assigned to infant, toddler, or preschool rooms and should be comfortable with the hands-on care and simple lesson leading required for each age group.

CURRENT & ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

• Current recurring church assignment: Wednesdays, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM in Haslet, TX 76052 (includes leading a short Bible lesson).
• Additional opportunities may include weekday church programs, Sunday children's ministry, church conferences, special events, and other one-time or recurring assignments.
• Hours are not guaranteed. Available shifts vary based on client needs, location, age group, and your availability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide attentive, nurturing care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children in church nursery, preschool, and children's ministry classrooms.
• Lead or support age-appropriate play, activities, and classroom routines while keeping children safely and actively engaged.
• Lead or assist with a short, provided Bible lesson or devotional appropriate to the age group, as part of the classroom routine.
• Change diapers and assist with toileting and hygiene needs as age-appropriate.
• Prepare and give bottles, support infant feeding, and assist with snacks or meals according to provided instructions and classroom procedures.
• Hold, soothe, supervise, and safely care for infants.
• Clean and sanitize toys, tables, feeding areas, classroom materials, and childcare spaces as needed during and after the shift.
• Support transitions, positive behavior, and a calm, organized classroom environment.
• Follow Agape's safety expectations, staffing ratios, and client-specific classroom instructions and lesson materials.
• Work independently when assigned or collaborate with other Agape caregivers, church staff, and volunteers.
• Arrive on time, remain actively engaged for the full assignment, and communicate professionally with Agape and our client partners.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Formal preschool employment is not required for every candidate.

Relevant paid, educational, volunteer, and children's ministry experience may be considered.

• Preschool or daycare teachers, substitute teachers, teacher assistants, early childhood educators, and paraprofessionals.
• College students, especially those studying Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, or related fields.
• Current or former children's ministry volunteers and church nursery, preschool, or children's ministry workers who are comfortable leading a simple Bible lesson.
• Candidates who have previously worked or volunteered with children in a church, school, daycare, camp, after-school, or similar group setting.
• Childcare professionals who are comfortable supervising and engaging multiple children rather than only providing one-on-one care.

Most importantly, we're looking for people who are dependable, caring, professional, actively engaged with children, and comfortable in a church-based classroom environment leading a short lesson.

REQUIREMENTS

• Comfortable caring for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, including diapering, bottle feeding, cleaning, and classroom routines when assigned.
• Comfortable working with groups of children, leading a short provided Bible lesson or devotional, and following classroom procedures and staffing ratios.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance for accepted assignments.
• Able to commute to Haslet / North Fort Worth and other accepted assignment locations.
• Able to stand, bend, sit on the floor, move throughout the classroom, remain active during the shift, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Able to successfully complete Agape's required screening and onboarding requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain required certification.

PAY & EMPLOYMENT

• Starting pay: $18.00 per hour.
• Opportunity to earn up to $20.00 per hour over time based on consistent attendance, reliability, performance, and tenure.
• W-2 employment.
• Part-time / as-needed scheduling with recurring and one-time assignments.
• Teachers may accept assignments that fit their availability and location, subject to Agape's scheduling and client needs.
