Description

About After

After.com is the new home for funerals. We’re reimagining end-of-life care by shifting the power from funeral homes to families. Our mission is to provide a more compassionate, accessible, and affordable experience during life’s most difficult moments — and our Care Team is at the heart of that promise.

Role Overview

As a Care Support Representative, you’ll be the first point of contact for grieving families. You’ll offer calm, grounded support — and you’ll be responsible for managing critical tasks with speed and accuracy. This role is ideal for someone who leads with empathy but follows through with precision.

The Details

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM with a 1-hour lunch
  • Location: In-office role in Orem, UT (not remote)
  • Compensation: Hourly rate + monthly performance-based bonuses

What You’ll Do

  • Answer inbound calls with calm, compassionate professionalism
  • Respond to inquiries, secure new cases, and dispatch logistics
  • Triage and resolve support tickets via phone, chat, and email
  • Manage Aircall missed calls and voicemails, assign follow-ups, and log notes in our CRM
  • Call inbound leads to provide support and communicate After’s services
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as ordering death certificates
  • Follow internal processes and state regulations with precision
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with families and internal teams

This Role Requires Both Heart and Precision

Many people feel called to this work because it’s meaningful. But to succeed here, care must be paired with excellence — a steady hand, strong systems thinking, and real follow-through. Families are often overwhelmed, and they need more than kindness: they need someone they can count on to meet deadlines, follow procedures, and anticipate details before they become problems.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You...

  • Are deeply empathetic, but stay grounded and effective in emotional situations
  • Are detail-oriented and task-driven — nothing slips through the cracks on your watch
  • Take pride in completing work accurately and on time, even when the pace is fast
  • Prefer clear expectations and structure — and can stay calm when things shift
  • Are conscientious and accountable — you hold yourself to a high standard
  • Thrive in roles that combine purpose with performance
  • Are emotionally intelligent and professional under pressure

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ years in customer service, client care, or similar support roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Calm, professional, and empathetic phone presence
  • Ability to handle a high volume of calls and time-sensitive tasks
  • Tech-comfortable; able to learn internal tools quickly
  • Spanish language skills a plus
  • Funeral industry experience welcome but not required

Why This Role Matters

At After, we believe families deserve better — better transparency, better affordability, and better care at one of life’s most difficult moments. The funeral industry has gone unchallenged for too long, leaving many people feeling powerless in their time of grief. We're here to change that.

As a Care Support Representative, you’re not just answering phones — you're setting the tone for a family’s entire experience with After. Often, you’ll be the first voice they hear. In that conversation, you’ll build trust, explain what to expect, and help the family understand what they need — sometimes before they even know how to ask. This role is both supportive and consultative: you’ll guide people through unfamiliar territory with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

Your work ensures each family’s experience is smooth, professional, and deeply human — and that matters, because we’re not just helping one family at a time. After is growing fast, with the goal of becoming the go-to funeral provider across the country. That means your impact stretches far beyond your desk — you’re helping to bring better death care to communities nationwide.

This is a rare chance to help build something meaningful in both the startup and funeral spaces — to work with heart and precision as we change an entire industry together.

What You'll Find Here

  • A thoughtful, mission-led team focused on doing right by families
  • A calm, respectful office culture with clear systems and support
  • A beautiful office campus with on-site gym, food trucks, and Murdock Trail access
  • Opportunities to grow within a fast-moving, impact-driven company
