Position Summary The Supported Employment Specialist – Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Services works directly with individuals recovering from substance use disorders to help them find, obtain, and maintain meaningful employment. This role combines vocational support with community-based engagement, using the IPS (Individual Placement and Support) Supported Employment model as its foundation.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct strengths-based vocational assessments to identify clients’ skills, interests, and
employment goals
• Develop individualized employment service plans with measurable, client-driven goals
• Research and identify job opportunities through outreach, networking, and community
connections
• Match clients with appropriate job openings based on their abilities, interests, and
logistics
• Assist clients with resumes, job applications, and interview preparation
• Build and maintain relationships with community employers and business partners
• Provide on-the-job coaching and ongoing support during job placements
• Identify and help clients address barriers to employment (transportation, scheduling,
accessibility, etc.)
• Coordinate with behavioral health clinicians and case managers to ensure integrated,
whole-person care• Maintain accurate and timely client records in the electronic health records (EHR)
system
• Provide crisis support and intervene when a client is at risk of losing their job
